I am always amazed by the professionalism and talent of case modders. Take a look at this brilliant pc rig made by Jan Hendrik VanToorn featuring a G1. Sniper Z97 gaming motherboard. It won the award of the "First rig battle competition" contest ! Really nice work!

I came across a PR release from EK releasing their first LN2 cooler. This one is based on RAM and by the looks of it has had some testing done on our new generation OC motherboard. It’s nice to see people passionate about their RAM clocking! We’re working hard at the moment on numerous ICs to see how they fair subzero with an upcoming new generation boards.
An alternative to this is the well established Kingpin cooler which we’ve successfully used in GIGABYTE’s labs to do a lot of our testing. It’s a great LN2 RAM cooler!
Last week the GIGABYTE OC lab hosted some world famous benchers to destroy hardware, go through massive quantities of LN2 and have a great time doing it. In the process several world records have fallen. We can’t post the scores just yet, but notice everyone but the shark and “Jake” are smiling. Congrats guys on an outstanding week of benching!
James from the Australian Xtreme Overclocking team called TeamAU (www.teamau.net) is feeling the Xmas spirit and gave away one of the tools he made for TeamAU boys to control power state for ATI graphics cards. Basically the tool disables power throttling and forces the graphics cards not to fall asleep. It also lowers frequency and voltage on GPUs to save power.
This tool is handy to both gamers and overclockers as it helps with some stuttering issues in games and instability in AMD/ATI Crossfire (Xfire) that some experience while it also helps overclockers disable power state which can affect score efficiency. Downside is that you will have a warmer PC and use more power if you are a gamer so make sure you have adequate case cooling. Overclockers don’t normally have to be too concerned about this as they test on open platforms generally. You can try and see if it helps and revert back to original state by enabling ULPS with the same tool however. Worth a try!
This tool basically does what some of us had to do manually and it’s hard work I’ll tell ya as Ive found out during my 7970 Xfire testing with hundreds of registry entries that need to be changed manually.

I often see PC shops have a good crack at making cool custom made PCs but this one from Scorptec in Australia is seriously the best looking PC I’ve seen in a long time. How awesome does this green beast look? Good to see a nice G1 Sniper Z87 and GIGABYTE GTX780 GHz edition in the spec, very nice guys!

I know it’s the second time this week that I’m plugging a Tiny ‘Tom’ Logan video, but to be honest I just can’t get enough of this guy. Cracks me up no end. Today’s video involves our very first AMD platform G1.Killer gaming board, the G1.Sniper A88X motherboard. Tom doesn’t attempt a full (epic 30 mins?!) vid here, it’s more of a preview or first look, but as you’d expect, Tom covers all the features and technologies and gives you a really good overview of a one of our most eagerly anticipated boards.
