Overclock 3D GIGABYTE Z77X UP7 Video Review Awards Gold

Tiny Tom Logan on Overclock3D.net has just posted typically epic (32 mins plus!) and comprehensive video review of our new flagship Z77 board, the GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7. And it’s fair to say that Tom is fan. Throughout the entire video he has a lot of great things to say about the board – from heatsink design, to OC performance, it’s all thumbs up. So much so that Tom and the team have deemed the board worthy of their Gold award.

Tom’s colleague and board reviewer Brian Waters has also written a full review which you can find here. Here’s a taste of what Brian had to say:

“the only conclusion we can draw from our testing of the Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 is "Phew, what a scorcher"…

“…A 4.9GHz overclock from our retail CPU was stunning, and it was certainly the easiest board weve yet tested to give us the 5GHz CPUz. It wasnt a case of an overclock that was big on numbers and short on performance either. Nearly every test saw the UP7 give us the highest result weve seen on a Z77 motherboard.”

“…in case you havent been paying attention this is the fastest motherboard weve tested. I personally would be perfectly happy to have it at the heart of my PC at home, and I cant think of a more ringing endorsement than that. So youre getting everything you could possibly desire with zero downside. A stunning performer, utterly worth of the OC3D Gold Award.”

The Z77X-UP7 uses an astonishing 32 phase power design, the latest Ultra Durable 5 technology and a host of great OC features that are designed specifically with record breaking LN2 sessions in mind. Find more details about the GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7 here and here.

Cool Time Lapse Video GIGABYTE Z87X D3H built into 1500 gaming rig

Our buddy Elric at Tech of Tomorrow assembled and (with the aim of giving away) a $1,500 gaming rig. Among the components used to for the rig he selected a GIGABYTE Z87X-D3H motherboard – an excellent choice sir. Check the Tech of Tomorrow site to find how you can win the beast.

Cool, no? Well what’s even cooler is that when they had engineer Anthony Reynolds assemble the machine, they installed a time lapse camera above. What you end up with this is a pretty nifty birds-eye view of how a real pro PC builder goes about his job. And having built maybe a hundred or so systems myself, I’d have to say that this guy really knows what he’s doing.

Check out the video below.

Video GIGABYTE G1 Sniper A88X examined by Overclock3D net

Tom

I know it’s the second time this week that I’m plugging a Tiny ‘Tom’ Logan video, but to be honest I just can’t get enough of this guy. Cracks me up no end. Today’s video involves our very first AMD platform G1.Killer gaming board, the G1.Sniper A88X motherboard. Tom doesn’t attempt a full (epic 30 mins?!) vid here, it’s more of a preview or first look, but as you’d expect, Tom covers all the features and technologies and gives you a really good overview of a one of our most eagerly anticipated boards.

Video TweakTown’s Deanzo shows us how to crank an FX 8150 Bulldozer to 7 78GHz on LN2

Armed with a GIGABYTE 900FXA-UD7 motherboard and a few liters of liquid nitrogen, Dean ‘Deanzo’ Smith shows us on video what it takes to cool an AMD FX-8150 processor all the way down to minus 180 degrees Celsius and hit incredible clock speeds in excess of 7.7GHz. You have to take look at this video; it’s great to get an experienced overclocker showing us step-by-step how to insulate the motherboard properly, patiently pouring in the LN2 until you get the desired CPU temperature.

Interestingly Dean recently took part in a GIGABYTE Extreme OC Workshop in Brisbane Australia where pros like himself and our very own Dino gave enthusiasts a chance to get hands on with LN2 overclocking. You can read Dean’s report on the event on TweakTown here.
